Maithu Bùi

Maithu Bùi is an artist based in Berlin whose practice explores dispositions and relational proximity through shared histories of violence, science, and technology. Working across video, installation, mixed media, and writing, they create spatial and situated encounters that examine how resonance, speech, and agency emerge.
Their work investigates the conditions under which bodies, memories, and technologies become entangled, translating complex social and historical relations into immersive artistic environments.
Bùi's work has been presented internationally, including at the 12th Berlin Biennale, KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin, the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn, Kunsthalle Bratislava, Ashkal Alwan in Beirut, the Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig, E-WERK Luckenwalde in collaboration with the Akademie der Künste Berlin, and the Contemporary Art Centre Vilnius.
Through interdisciplinary artistic research, Bùi develops installations and moving-image works that bring together material experimentation and critical inquiry, exploring how histories of violence continue to shape forms of perception, relation, and collective experience.
