What counts as evidence? And who has the authority to produce it? This panel asks how historical truth is constructed and made visible through artistic practice.
Historical realities are not only discovered through evidence. They are constructed through the ways evidence is assembled, interpreted, and narrated. Archives are fragmentary, testimonies remain incomplete, and political realities are often hidden behind official narratives or invisible infrastructures. Bringing together artistic research, investigative practices, and media art, this panel explores how artists work with documents, images, digital traces, and testimony to construct new understandings of the past.
Rather than opposing fact and fiction, the panelists examines how artistic investigation expands the ways evidence can be interpreted, visualised, and communicated.
