In this workshop, artist duo HUNITI GOLDOX invites participants to explore digital reenactment as an artistic strategy for reimagining historical events, myths and erased narratives. Rather than reconstructing the past, digital reenactment is approached as a process of translation, speculation and world-building that refuses the linear logic of historical narratives.
Beginning at Silent Green, a former crematorium, participants engage with the site as a landscape where memory persists through traces, material transformation, absence and the unseen. Drawing on Walter Benjamin's Angel of History alongside angels, spirits and more-than-human beings that traverse different cosmologies, the workshop asks: What does it mean to gather fragments rather than complete stories? How can oral histories, mythologies and the invisible become counter-languages that challenge dominant histories?
Through video, sound, drawing, writing, movement, and 3D scanning, participants collect traces from the site and translate them into a speculative digital environment.
Participants collectively construct an immersive landscape of fragments, unfinished transmissions and imagined connections. The workshop understands digital reenactment as a practice of resistance, one that reimagines what histories can become, whose voices persist and how alternative futures might emerge from what has been left behind.
