Giselle Beiguelman

Giselle Beiguelman is an artist, researcher, and Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP). Her work explores digital archives, networked urban cultures, and the aesthetics of memory in the twenty-first century.
Combining artistic research with critical investigations into technology, she examines how digital media shape remembrance, preservation, surveillance, and the politics of forgetting. Her recent projects use artificial intelligence to investigate the construction and persistence of colonial imaginaries in art and science.
Alongside her artistic practice, Beiguelman coordinates the FAPESP Thematic Project Digital Archives and Research: Art, Architecture, and Design. She is the author of Politics of the Image: Surveillance and Resistance in the Datasphere (UBU Editora, 2021; 2nd ed. 2023) and Memory of Amnesia: Politics of Forgetting (Edições Sesc, 2019), among numerous publications on digital culture, memory, and contemporary art.
Her work is held in major museum collections in Brazil and internationally, including ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, the Jewish Museum Berlin, MAC-USP, and the Pinacoteca de São Paulo. She has received numerous national and international awards for her contributions to contemporary art and digital culture.
