With its 40th anniversary upcoming, transmediale is a festival and space for critical reflection on art and technology.

The festival brings together transdisciplinary communities and diverse audiences with an interest in digital cultures to develop new perspectives on our technomediated times. In the course of its history, transmediale has grown from its beginnings as VideoFilmFest to one of the most important events for art and digital culture worldwide. It takes place annually at the end of January and forms the core of the organisation's programming. Beyond the yearly event, transmediale is a transversal, dynamic platform with a vibrant community and a strong network that enables year-round activities, including publications, studio events, and a residency programme. Since 202, transmediale runs its studio space at silent green Kulturquartier hosting different event formats and activities throughout the year.

For Transgressive Memory Festival, transmediale has contributed to the exhibition with two artworks presented at transmediale studio.
