Zeina Hanna

Zeina, born in Beirut in 1983, is an independent artist working in the fields of dance, performance and choreography.

She was part of the Extensions dance program at the CDC Toulouse in 2006/7, and then worked with choreographer Emmanuelle Santos (voie.e) for two years while pursuing a Masters in Theatre from Paris 8 University, Vincenne Saint-Denis. Based in Berlin, Zeina graduated with a Masters in Choreography from the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin in 2012.

She is currently in a research phase for her next project Backroom Anatomy and working in collaboration with dancer and choreographer Marysia Zimpel on Scattered. Zeina is also participating in Xavier Leroy’s project Retrospective, part of the Kampnagel summer festival in Hamburg. She continues to develop her own choreographic work exploring formats in which dance is or can be presented.

Zeina is mostly interested in movement research and choreography, video and dance, and politics in dance.
