Rebekka Ladewig

Rebekka Ladewig is Professor of the History and Theory of Cultural Techniques at Bauhaus University Weimar. Her research is situated at the intersection of cultural studies and media theory, with a particular focus on material and visual culture, histories of technology, feminist science studies, media ecologies, cultural memory, and tacit knowledge.
She received her doctorate from Humboldt University Berlin and has held research and teaching positions at Humboldt University, the University of Vienna, the University of Art and Design Offenbach, and Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. Since 2024, she has been a Member of the Common Room at St Cross College, University of Oxford.
Her publications include Schwindel: Eine Epistemologie der Orientierung (2016), Modell Hütte (2021), and Symmetries of Touch (2022). Her current work explores decolonial perspectives on cultural techniques, theories of projection, contemporary art and exhibition practices, and the histories and historiographies of lasting and outlasting.
