Raisan Hameed is an Iraqi-German multimedia artist based in Leipzig whose practice spans photography and installation. Working at the intersection of memory and visual transformation, he explores how personal archives, digital imagery, and fragmented narratives can be reconfigured to reflect on loss, conflict, and the reconstruction of meaning.

Through processes of deconstruction and recontextualization, he investigates the traces that images carry, creating poetic yet critical reflections on resilience, displacement, and the politics of representation.

Moving between intimate histories and collective memory, Hameed examines the tensions between visibility and erasure, asking what remains, what disappears, and what can be imagined anew. By transforming archival materials into spatial and visual compositions, he considers how images shape cultural memory and how identities are continuously negotiated in contemporary visual culture.

Born in Mosul, Iraq, Hameed lives and works in Leipzig, Germany. His interdisciplinary practice combines photography and installation to develop new visual languages for engaging with memory, migration, and the afterlives of conflict.
